Small coffin cab

I love making doublets.  A doublet is two slabs of rock molecularly bonded together into one.  I’ve taken this age old technique and used it artistically as a way for the background to make the foreground ‘pop’. And this mixed media technique allows me to take that one step further.

In this instance the top piece is glass and the bottom is black jasper.  It’s the magic in the middle that makes this so cool. She’ll change colors depending on what angle you’re looking at her.  (Captured the purple in the photos) Sweeeet! I’ve cut her into a small coffin shape. Love this shape, I’ve been creating with it since 2006…way before it was cool.  lol.  Notice her little air bubble at the bottom, a little imperfection characteristic of handmade.

About Azoho cabs

Hi! I’m Stacie and I cut smalls.  My cabochons are cut with a metalsmith in mind.  The back is flat and lightly polished. Although the cabs are small; wire wrappers are enjoying them as well.  All measurements are approximate and measured at the widest points.  Some of my cabs are domed and some are flattish.  Some have a glossy polish and some are matte finished by hand.  Appreciate the uniqueness of an artist cut cabochon.

Thank you for stopping by and considering adopting one of my rocks! If I can answer any questions drop me a message using the contact form or send a DM through IG.

As always- I combine shipping on your cabochon purchases. Hand cut in my Treasure Coast, FL workshop.
